This, I Wrote for You/Note to Self

"Can somebody tell me why these niggas gotta be here? I don't wanna be here. It don't get no easier. We ain't sposed to drink in here..."-Ain't You, K. Michelle

Let it go.

You know what "it" is. That relationship that's hanging by a thread made of excuses and draining all the energy you could exert on better things. That friendship where you can't fully express yourself. That job that makes you question when better is coming. Let it all go.

Pray. Go somewhere and scream. Paint that girl. Sample all the perfumes. Appreciate the taste of cheesecake. Cry because you were gifted with lies that weren't on your list. Laugh because the people that delivered them still lost you in the long run, and you are a loss worth grieving for.

If a promise kept is breaking you, then break it. Your first obligation is to yourself. Do not settle. Do not do something destructive to cry for help. Just say what you need. If it isn't received, keep running until you find it. Save your money. You'll need it for the car that's going to get you out of here. Don't spend the money because you're sad.

You cannot hold the weight of others, especially when they consistently gain. Love is not a too-tight necklace. Pain is not infinite. There is a tomorrow waiting for you at midnight. Be there for it. Come bearing faith.
